Re- opening of Church Premises Re- opening of Church Premises
I'm sure many of you have been eagerly watching the news reports that are coming out and the lifting of Lockdown restrictions. As we enter phase three of the Scottish Governments roadmap. This is good news as slowly things are beginning to ease up and more of us can come together. Some of you will be eagerly waiting on news of when we can all come together as a church family. Before we can do this, we must wait for further guidelines from the Church of Scotland. These are expected out very soon. The guidelines are likely to incorporate the necessary safety measures that we need to put in place to allow us to safely come together. What we don't know at this point is exactly who will make the decision to allow us all to go back to church, it is likely that Glasgow presbytery will guide us in this decision making process after approval of our Risk Assessment.Further guidance is expected out from the Church of Scotland in the next few days in the mean time the Scottish Government has advised that all churches take part in the NHS Test and Protect Scheme that will involve taking some data from each person who visits our church. This will include the names and contact telephone numbers of anybody who visits our church premises for contact tracing.
What we also know is that physical distancing is likely to continue for some time yet.It is also expected that face coverings may also be needed to be worn in church and that numbers in our sanctuary will be limited as it's possible that there may be a cap on the number of people who we will be allowed into our building at any one time. We know that this is a difficult time for many people who miss the companionship and fellowship of our congregation.
All we ask in the meantime is for some patience as we await the latest advice and instructions that we need to take to allow us to slowly all come together.
As soon as we know more information, we will strive hard to get that information out as quickly as possible in lots of different ways so that everybody knows exactly what will be happening over the coming weeks. Please follow us on our church Facebook page and Website and if there are any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch with your elder or myself for more information.Lorraine RobertsonSession Clerk.
